Breaking News!!
The South Sound Blues Association has chosen The Randy Oxford Band to compete in Memphis in the International Blues Challenge. Question: Where in the heck did the South Sound Blues Association come from? Never heard of 'em!

Well, by gum, I guess we can never have too many blues societies in the Home of the Blues, the Pacific Northwest. Back when Blind Melon Douglas Fir was in these parts, there was no society at all to help him make a living.

Good for them for choosing Randy Oxford's band. It makes sense, since he is on their board as fundraiser...

I wasn't paying attention, I guess. Neither the WBS nor the eastern Washington group sponsors a band for this contest? I guess I can see why not - then they would have to participate in all these benefits to send the band to the great State of Tennessee.

I've already applied for a tax-free exemption for the North Admiral Neighborhood Blues Society, so don't even think about going there! However, I believe the Alki area is still up for grabs...

My blues society is "The Bellevue Firs Apartment 13 Blues Society," and we will be sending a blues flautist to Memphis.

Take THAT, pretenders!
